Blog post 8: Opening Credits for Gone Girl

When watching the title sequence for the film Gone Girl, I noted down each time the credits changed and added a little bit of detail about each name that appeared on the screen. I reached these conclusions:

• The production and distribution company will always come first 
• The director will come afterwards depending on how well known he is 
• If the film has well known actors (in this case, Ben Affleck and Rosamund Pike), their names will come before the actual title of the film 
• The cast of the film will come before things like the sound and costume designer, film editor etc. 
• The director's name comes again at the very end 

The font used in the title sequence is very simple, block and white. It matches the overall colour scheme which is very dull, pale and unsaturated to add to the overall mysterious atmosphere.
