How do we define a target audience?
A target audience is the people that you are aiming your product at
This is usually split into the following 3 categories:
Primary-
The main audience - the direct interest to which the producers are aiming the product at
*An example would be a superhero fan going to purchase a superhero movie.
Secondary-
The secondary audience- the product is not designed specifically for this group however, they may watch the media type if they are accompanied with their children, friends, family or a group.
*An example would be going to the cinema with a friend to watch a movie they like.
Tertiary -
A tertiary audience would be slightly interested in the product due to them knowing something within it.
They would not usually view or read the media type.
*An example would be knowing the actors in the film or the genre in the media type that gains their attention.
