Blog post 33: After Effects Ident

For this blog task we were asked to practice making an Ident in After Effects for the distribution company of our film. Firstly, we created a logo in Online Logo Maker and then picked an After Effects template to fit our logo into. I chose to create a logo with a dark, red colour scheme considering the genre of our film (psychological thriller). This is because red is often associated with blood, horror and violence which are all elements that we will incorporate into our film. I use a random name generator to create the name of the distribution company.

After creating the logo, I picked the "Glitch" After Effects template because of how mysterious it looks and how fitting it is to the psychological aspect of our film. However, the colour scheme for the template doesn't really match the logo as the template is more centred around blues, greys and whites and towards the end it starts to fade into a red/black. Because of this element, we will probably not be using my ident although we will take ideas and inspirations from it for our final product.
