5) Institutional Detail(Omar):

Here are some institutional details on our film!

Mainstream or Independent.
Our film will be an independent film. This is because our film wont be associated with any major company. The reasoning behind this is that major companies usually contain a huge budget and team(consisting of multiple actors, directors and film associates). They are also usually able to satisfy the demand of the market as they have a huge reach to the general public.
We are an independent company for the following reasons:
Our film will be created by a small group of people(in this case being 4) and we have a generally small budget.
We do not intend to market our product either meaning we do not have a market to satisfy


Who will distribute our film:

-After conducting the research seen in Blog Task 32, i decided that the best company to distribute a film like ours would be Lions gate Films. T
-The reason i have decided on this idea is because Lionsgate Films have released many films in the past that are similar to our genre. This means that since they have experience with our genre kind of movies, they would know how to market it to the right audience.
-For example, they have released thriller films such as the Saw franchise, Blair witch and American Psycho(NOTE: We are actually inspired by this film)


What other distribution companies are similar to yours?
*New line cinema would be a distribution company very similar to ours.
 This is because they have released a ton of thriller movies in the past which would mean, just like    Lionsgate films, they have experience with managing the social reach and marketing.
*They would be able to ensure that the public would be able to identify the characteristics of the  genre the film is being marketed under.

Momentum pictures is another distribution company similar to ours. They are known as one of the top leading UK and Ireland distribution companies and have released movies such as; The Woman in black, Frozen and the Girl who played with fire.

Name some films that have been distributed like yours/if you were to make this a full feature film indicate why our distribution would be lit.
Films that have been distributed like ours would be American Psycho, Frozen, Black swan and  The butterfly affect. These films are all great as they made use of social media in order to gain a huge audience. They all made use of television ads for marketing and were featured in various newspapers/articles.
-If we were to make our film a full feature, the reason why our distribution company would be lit is:
As previously stated our company has experience with our film genre before. This means they know how to market our film in a way that would leave a positive impact on the audiences we are targeting. The thriller films our distribution company have released before have a similar demographic meaning we can reach out to a similar audience.


How would ownership affect the type of titles and credits you have.
-Ownership would affect the type of credits and titles we have as the distribution company would have more control over these things.
For example, if the movies Title Card/Title credit were to contain something that could offend a certain group of people then they would instruct us to change it-this happened with the title credits for Donnie Darko.
-Due to the distribution company being the one of the most important credits of a film, the order of the credits could be re arranged due to ownership changing the order of what credits are shown first. I.e, the distribution company would be shown first in the order of credits.
