The Adventures of Jigda-Khatun
The 6 minute movie challenge involved our group having to create a film idea in 6 minutes and combining our ideas for films. This is Ersila explaining the general plot of the film we came up with using the location (a tube on the Victoria Line), prop (a golf club) and the random Wikipedia article we were given.
The genre for the film we created would probably be a fiction comedy/adventure as it involves time travel and unrealistic aspects. It is first set in the Georgian era and then moves to modern day as the character travels in a time machine.
STORY BOARD
Here, my group and i have created a story board for the begging of our movie plot that we created within 6 minutes, in which we title The Adventures of Jidda-Khatun. We have also listed the shot types below in the text box.
In the first shot, our group decided for the movie to begin with a extreme wide shot to establish the setting and create context, we also agreed on the sound of the first shot to include the singing of birds as well as the sounds of people talking possibly from a nearby market, this makes the shot appear as normal and authentic as possible. In the next shot we agreed we wanted the audience to see the husband of Jigda-Khatun (Jidda-Khatun was th first wife of a Georgian King, she was also childless which was frowned upon). We wanted the husband to be seen consoling his wife as she is crying due to the fact she can't have a baby, therefore the audience will be able to hear the wife crying. In the next shot we didn't want there to be much sound, but instead the sound of her sighing and breathing heavy to the thought of her not being able to have a child whilst she looks into the mirror, the sound of her sighing and crying will show he audience that she is distraught therefore creating context. In the 4th shot we wanted here to be little sound as she walks around to find he noble, hoping that he has the answers to fix her unfortunate situation, therefore by having no dialogue nor any load music in the background we are hoping that this would create anticipation within the audience as they may be wondering and thinking if he has any solutions. In the 5th shot we would introduce dialogue between the Georgian noble and Jidda-Khatun whilst using a over the shoulder shot to intoduce a wider variety of shot types. Finally in then last shot we would also have more dialogue between the two, this includes Jidda asking what is IVF and the noble explaining that she can travel to the year 2016 an receive IVF, followed by the sound of Jidda-Khatun's sound of excitement (gasping whilst hearing the news).
