Props
- A Bible will be used by the main character in several shots to emphasise the importance of the theme of religion in the film. It will be incorporated with close-ups and extreme-close-ups of relevant quotes to help create the context for the film.
- newspaper articles and pictures are one of the most significant props used as they create the most context and inform the audience of the plot or storyline of the film. They are pictures of women who are essentially the 'victims' of our psychopath and therefore a major clue for the film.
- Lastly, we will use an American flag or a pinned globe. This is incredibly significant as it establishes the location to some extent and also hints towards the cunningness and secrecy of our character.
- Bracelets and other trinkets of victims.
- pieces of hair from victims.
Costume
Our character will be wearing blue jeans, white shirts and most significantly a jacket with the confederate flag patch. The whole outfit is very basic, making him appear as an ordinary guy yet just that small detail of the patch reveals a aspect of his ideologies. Overall though, we don't want the audience to focus much on the clothing but mainly on the actions of the character and the pin board so we have kept the outfit minimal with the least amount of detail as possible.
Makeup
We want the main character to appear as ordinary and innocent and therefore his make-up will reflect that. A flesh face and rose cheeks will reflect his lifestyle of exercise and hard work, making him blend in with others but at the same time he stands out as well taken care of. Lastly, the make-up will be used to make our character appear older than the actor's actual age. Our psychopath is in his early 20's however our actor is 16 so therefore, the make-up will play a crucial part in the character's appearance.
