In this blog post I will be discussing the location and setting we have decided on regarding our title sequence filming.
Our group decided that we will shoot the title sequence mainly indoors (but outdoors is included as well) as the film is based in America and therefore we want to stray from locations which may suggest we are filming in London or any other place. We are filming mainly in a house in Enfield, London however, our location in the film is based in southeast and south-central US, which is crucial for the production as the film is based on this region which is heavily influenced by 'evangelical protestantism'. Because of this location, a lot of context is already given in the title sequence even though it is a discrete sequence.
- Therefore, the decided main setting of our group is a house garage. The appearance of the garage will be dark and abandoned, with tons of boxes and other rubbish, which indicates the main character wanting isolation and privacy, while also hinting towards the personality of the character.
- We will also have shots of churches and church windows, which are located in Crouchend.
- We will also have shots of our character walking down an alleyway, this being the outdoors element in the title sequence. The alleyway scenes will be filmed in Shoreditch, London somewhere between 5-7 for the purpose of it being dark while we are filming. This is important because the time of the character being outdoors suggests on the activities he takes part in and also the type of person he is.
