Rough cut 2 Evaluation

Generally, this rough cut is quite successful and heading for a strong finish. We have definately improved the title sequence in comparison to the fist rough cut with things such as layering of sound, cut of shots and colour grading.
At this point I am confident we have created the apropriate atmosphere and mood for a pschychological thriller with the editing of the shots. One great example is when we cut up the shot of the girl running away and added blank screens inbetween. This created an eiree feeling and built suspense since there was a feeling of danger catching on to this girl.

We also added many more layers of sound at this point. After deciding to have the preacher throughout the whole title sequence, we layered it with a drone, which is what sets of our title sequence in the beginning. This is often used in thrillers and considered a popular convention.
The sounds of this organ is layered with this at around 00:50 and is very similar to a drone, which therefore connotes a sense of danger and thriller even further, while also in an incredibly suttle way hint towards the relligious motives of the film. Furthermore, it builds up the intensity as the title sequence goes on, reaching a climax just before it ends.

Our group has made some improvements with the credits of the title sequence however, this is our weakest point so far.
