Finishing off title sequence

Finishing final title sequence

On the final day to finish our title sequence, my group and I came into college to finish off the final touches to the sequence. We had some goals in mine in which we wanted to complete.

  • Make corrections to our credits
  • Colour grade
  • Create a ident for the production company
  • Layer more diegetic and non diegetic sounds

The corrections for the credits include changing the location in which we had placed the credits. We originally placed the credits in a different location in every shot, after recognising this our group realised that this needed to be changed, we resolved this by placing the credits in a roughly similar location, apart from the credits where the shots were in a different setting. We also changed the font as we realised later on in the process that the sizing of the font alters in each credit which we then changed.

We also had the time to colour grade, prior to this day we did colour grade however this was minimal, therefore on this day we were able to colour grade almost every shot in the title sequence, we chose to colour grade the shots into a blue hue, this is because we wanted to follow a thriller convention and we realised that a lot of thriller movies have a blue hue to them, this was mentioned in one of my posts prior where I highlighted the importance of colour grading.

We were also able to make a production ident, we did this using after effects, we were also able to include a jingle to the ident as we realised that many have there own jingle to them such as FOX.

We added more sounds and were able to layer also, this includes having the sound of a fire cracking when shots of the candle were displayed, we also added sounds of the door closing (creaking sounds) as well as having more drone sounds and various other diegetic and non diegetic sounds.

Overall I am very pleased with the result of my title sequence, I believe our group has worked really hard creating the sequence and we have all completed our goals which we have set when creating the film opening.
